In August, the National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) introduced the *Road Safety Code of Practice for Political Activities*, designed to reduce road traffic accidents, injuries, and fatalities during election periods. Launched in Accra, the Code will serve as a guide to promote best road safety practices among key road user groups involved in political activities.

The initiative aims to raise awareness about the importance of safe driving during political campaigns, integrate road safety into political party activities, and enhance compliance with traffic regulations. It also seeks to build strong partnerships between political parties and road safety authorities.
Representatives from all major political parties attended the launch, pledging their commitment to ensuring road safety during their campaigns.
The Code was developed in collaboration with the Ghana Police Service, the Electoral Commission, and road safety-focused organizations, including the LADA Institute, BIGRS, StreetSense Organization, and CUTS International.
