According to reports a road diversion on the Kasoa - Cape Coast highway has led to the collapse of the bridge at Gomoa Okyereko in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.
According to the report, it appears a road diversion led to the overflowing of the Ayensu river which in turn affected the residents in Gomoa Okyereko.

A social media user who shared this on the TroTro Diaries Facebook group shared some alternative routes for road users who want to use the Accra - Cape Coast Highway.
Alternative Routes:
Vehicles coming from Cape Coast towards Accra can use the Winneba - Swedru - Bawjiase road to Kasoa or Pokuase
Vehicles coming from Accra towards Cape Coast: after Kasoa, use the Breku or Akoti road to Obrachire through to Swedu and then on to Winneba.
